His exhibition, ‘Strong Women’ is starting at Cafe Royle until November 21st, organised by Zebra Gallery’s Art Curator, Gabrielle du Plooy. This exhibition includes fashion designer Daphne Guinness, Hollywood stars Melanie Griffith and Tippi Hedren, Daphane Selfe is amongst the celebrated women, being known as one of the oldest superwomen in the world she definitely belongs at the top. Most of the images were shot in the comfort of their own homes. I caught up with Alistair who tells me why he is inspired by strong women.
I began by photographing Daphne Selfe who is the main inspiration for this project. Her strength and courage as a women in the fashion industry for over 50 years has always astounded me and her publishing her biography last year entitled ‘The Way We Wore’ about her life in clothing sums this all up too.
