Why did you decide this subject matter, to photograph strong women?

I began by photographing Daphne Selfe who is the main inspiration for this project. Her strength and courage as a women in the fashion industry for over 50 years has always astounded me and her publishing her biography last year entitled ‘The Way We Wore’ about her life in clothing sums this all up too.

What attributes makes a strong women to you?

Somebody who sticks at what they do and creates their dream. Strong Women is centred on creative women in fashion, film and music.

Who are your inspirations in life?

This is a personal project and all the subjects for me have been a pure inspiration. I have the pleasure of knowing them all. My mother of course is the main reason I’m here and many of the women involved (three of the subjects were pregnant at the time of the shoots) also have their own children too which add more to the strength of them all.

To enjoy the timeless black and white film imagery and to celebrate the strength of women.

I have started the next project which is similar to my previous exhibition White Shirts about a personal, staple piece of clothing.
